BSW poults do well on a non-medicated 20% waterfowl starter, and graduate to non-medicated 17-18% grower ration for waterfowl when they are 4-6 weeks and can handle the larger particles. Supplement with greenery at all stages. A good quality feed, clean water and small grit should always be available free choice as you introduce them to pasture. The proportion of their diet that will come from forage will vary from 10-50% or more, depending on the property and conditions. A higher protein supplemental feed will encourage good early skeletal development for a better physique at maturity. As they mature, a finisher or corn or grain mix is sufficient. |
